Management of rice straw in rice-soybean succession in tropical lowland

چکیده
This study aimed to analyze rice straw alternative managements maximize the rice-soybean succession yield and quantify their impacts on soil properties. The experiment was set up in a completely randomized design with six replicates. Nine were evaluated: burning (M1), harvesting (M2), incorporation disc harrow two passes (M3) or three (M4) of leveling harrow, knife-roller soybean no-tillage (M5), (M6) (M7) (M8) (M9) harrow. Straw by provided lowest organic matter (SOM) contents due slow mineralization fresh incorporated shallow into soil, although SOM increased surface layer related initial content. Rice-soybean more affected physical than chemical one pass can replace burning, without affecting quality, reduction machinery operations, allowing early tillage.

Incorporation of plant residues in soil affects N and C content and dynamics. This studydetermined the effects of short-term alternative rice (Oryza sativa L.) residue management on Nmineralization and uptake by rice. Pot and laboratory incubation experiments were established byincorporating 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost in paddy soil. The 15N recovered by riceaveraged 16.6%; mo...

Feed is the largest single cost of producing beef. Producers who have access to alternative feeds often have economic advantages due to the lower costs of production. However, alternative feeds can present challenges due to variable consistency, variable supply, potential toxicants, and unusual composition. Rice straw, a by-product of the rice grain industry in Northern California, is a potenti...

Mesophilic bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes varied during composting cycles with high numbers in the initial and final cycles with maximal values in compost C and D, and sharply decreased in the heating cycles. Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis were dominated at the initial composting cycle. Whereas, at maturity Bacillus subtilis was the major followed by B.badi...
